What are some accomplishments you have achieved at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ that you are most proud of thus far?

I have achieved honor roll, achieved great grades, and built relationships with professors that I know will be beneficial to me in the future.

What is your favorite spot to study on campus?

I love studying in the library. It's very quiet especially next to the windows in the back of the library or in the quiet area with study desks.

What was your biggest fear as a new transfer student?

My biggest fear was that I wouldn't perform well academically at a university; that the pressure of finishing my degree would be too much. Also, I was afraid I wouldn't make any friends since I transferred in, and perhaps other students had been friends since freshmen year.

What does being a Transfer Ambassador mean to you ?

To me, being a Transfer Ambassador means introducing students to all the resources they have on campus and setting them up for success in their transition. It also, means being a friend. Transferring isn't just a big deal academically, but emotionally and mentally, and sometimes people just need encouragement or someone to listen.

What is some advice or tips for incoming transfer students?

Create a support network for yourself by gathering phone numbers and e-mails of students you see in class so you can study together, pick classes together, and share notes. Second tip, connect with your teachers. They will be writing your letters of recommendation and are open to helping you figure out what it is you'd like to do. Third, take time to enjoy the campus, your new friends and all the fun activities on campus.

Do you work or have internships while at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥? On Campus or off campus?

My current on-campus job is being a transfer ambassador.

What do you love about ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥?

I love the teachers want to teach you and they want to create an environment where you feel comfortable enough to express what you think. It's also a really diverse campus. I don't often feel singled out in my classes, nor isolated.

The best I advise I received as an incoming transfer student was...

To enjoy the last few years of college. I had never been told that, and my original goal was to transfer and finish up my degree in a focused manner, but taking the time to enjoy my last years as a college student is equally important.

What are your plans after you graduate?

My plan after graduation is to take a break for a year to get some experience in the public health environment before attending graduate school to achieve my Masters in Public Health.
