transfer ambassador jasmine t. graham
What are some accomplishments you have achieved at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ that you are most proud of thus far?
My biggest accomplishment was being invited to join honor societies here on campus. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would be a member of an honor society being a transfer student.
What is your favorite spot to study on campus?
The library quad or inside of the student center in Mieklejohn
Hidden gem on campus?
The Zen garden located behind the Art and Education building is definitely a hidden gem. The area is beautiful and relaxing. Also not that many people go here so it's almost never overcrowded.
What was your biggest fear as a new transfer student?
My biggest fear was being a failure.
What does being a Transfer Ambassador mean to you?
To me being a Transfer Ambassador means hope -- hope for the future and hope for the present. Being a transfer student is tough, there were times when I wanted to quit but I wanted to be the first person in my family to get a college degree. There are so many students like me out there and I wanted to be an Ambassador to show them that everything will be okay, and that they too will succeed despite the educational and personal backgrounds of their families.
What is some advice or tips for incoming transfer students?
Be involved, and stay organized. These are the two things which helped me the most on campus and the things which made my transfer journey more rewarding.
Do you work or have internships while at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥? On Campus or off campus?
I am hoping to start an internship on campus this fall quarter with the H.O.P.E program in the health center.

I plan to go on and get a phD in behavioral analysis or public policy. I also hope to go to Law School and practice constitutional law and criminal law.
