The principles of equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of the Centre’s approach to working with marginalised and seldom heard groups. We are committed to stand against racism and all forms of oppression which harm individuals and communities. This requires us to reflect upon and question the power inequalities which perpetuate systems of injustice across the world.
We are all part of the problem – but we can be part of the solution as we uphold social justice to tackle entrenched racism and inequality whenever and wherever we see it.

As part of the Centre’s response to the issue, students of the University’s Department of Social Sciences and Social Work are being invited to join a Zoom based student/staff roundtable discussion on ‘Responding to 2020 Racism: The cases of Covid-19 and George Floyd’ on Friday, 12 June 2020 at 11am.
