Tanya Hauck, Vice President for University Advancement at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ East Bay, has made a decision to leave the university. Hauck will be moving back home to Morro Bay to spend more time with her husband. Her last day at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ will be Feb. 28.

“In the two years Tanya has been with us, she has brought University Advancement and ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ to a new level,” said President Leroy Morishita. “I have the greatest respect for her work and the enormous impact she has made on the university. She is leaving the department of University Advancement at a time when they are fully positioned to achieve the goals set for the Capital Campaign. I deeply appreciate the sacrifice she and her family have made for her to be with us at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ for the past two years. I hate to see her go, but I am glad that she will be able to concentrate on what matters most to her.”

Hauck expressed sadness at leaving the university and confidence in the ability of the University Advancement team to carry through the Rising in the East campaign. “This professional decision has been one of the hardest of my career,” said Hauck. “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with President Morishita, the Education Foundation Board, and the campus community to develop the groundwork for strengthening the financial future of the University. I am particularly proud of the work the University Advancement team has accomplished and will always be grateful for their support and understanding during this time of transition.”

During her tenure, University Advancement has made remarkable progress with a fully staffed team of seasoned professionals, an outstanding rebranding initiative, award-winning publications, and a new website. To date, more than $35 million has been raised during the “quiet phase” of the Rising in the East campaign and the university is on track to meet the goal of $60 million by 2019.

An interim vice president will be appointed soon and a nation-wide search will be initiated as soon as possible.
