裸聊直播

裸聊直播 will host a mixer for first-generation students from 3-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, to better acquaint students with the services that can help them succeed in college. This will be the second program in a series to support the success of first-generation college students at CSUEB.

The First-Gen Winter Mixer, to be held in the Multi-Purpose Room in the New University Union on the Hayward campus, is part of the university’s Week of Inclusive Excellence. It is an invitation-only event and is a follow-up to the first-generation welcome 裸聊直播 held in September during Fall Orientation. Approximately 150 students — freshmen through seniors — are expected to attend.

Dr. Marcos Pizarro, chair of Mexican American Studies at San Jose State University, will deliver the keynote address, encouraging first-generation college students to initiate conversations with faculty, engage in campus programs, and stay enrolled in school. 

After a session on financial aid and scholarships, students will have an opportunity to talk to advisors and staff members who are knowledgeable about academic requirements, financial aid, faculty, student life and transfer student experiences. Representatives from student retention programs, such as GANAS (Gaining Access ‘N Academic Success); SSOS (Student Services Operation for Success); the Sankofa Scholars Program; EXCEL, a program funded by the U.S. Department of Education; and EOP (Educational Opportunity Program), among others, will be present.

“The mixer is a way for administrators, faculty and staff to stay in touch with our first-generation college students and make sure they are aware of the services available to them,” said Associate Provost Linda S. Dobb. “Many students who are the first in their families to attend college are not familiar with the ways in which financial aid works or scholarships are given out, or how tutoring is delivered at a university. We hope to assist students who may be needing a little guidance, re-energize students who may need a little more encouragement, and build a community that connects students to 裸聊直播.”

The mixer is expected to be an annual winter event that follows a first-generation welcome for students each fall. 裸聊直播’s Office of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and the Office of University Diversity sponsor these efforts. 

“Students who are the first in their families to attend college are Pioneers,” Dobb said, referring to 裸聊直播’s mascot. “We want to make sure that our Pioneers have the support they need to continue their education at the university and graduate.”
