According to , two ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ online degree programs are rated among the best in the magazine’s 2016 rankings. CSUEB’s online bachelor’s program and graduate education program are both ranked by U.S. News & World Report as No. 7 in the state. This is the first year CSUEB’s online graduate education program made it into the rankings.

“ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ students live increasingly busy lives and we are constantly looking at ways to accommodate their changing needs through online learning,” said Interim Provost Carolyn Nelson. “We want every student to have the opportunity to learn online and have a quality online learning experience before they leave our campus.”

U.S. News & World Report reviews information for hundreds of colleges and universities throughout the country, looking at factors that weigh how these programs are delivered and their effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable time. Each long-distance education program is scored on four major criteria: student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, and student services and technology.

“This third-party measurement validates the university's effort to make online education a viable solution in addition to the traditional teaching/learning modality,” said Roger Wen, director of the online campus. “CSUEB Online Campus has been working with faculty members and staff on transforming support and services, and improving quality course design and platform availabilities.”

The U.S. News & World Report list is just the latest of several regional and national rankings that highlight the value of a CSUEB degree.

Recently, released its first-ever college rankings and ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ is in the 89th percentile for alumni earnings above expectation. Rankings were based on the economic value of a university, which was determined by the gap between how much money its students subsequently earn and how much they might have made had they studied elsewhere.

In a survey that looked at 233 colleges and universities, ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ also ranked among the top 25 universities in the West considered “Best Bang for the Buck.”

In November, ranked CSUEB among the “Top 40 Master’s Colleges & Universities Hosting International Students.”
