ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ Ranks Well in Earning Potential in Report

In a ranking of colleges and universities based on graduates’ salary potential, ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ scores high overall and its computer science program ranks in the top 10 nationally.
Payscale.com places the university at No. 85 out of 461 public schools and 242 out of 1,034 total colleges and universities in the United States in . That puts CSUEB in the top 19 percent of all public schools and top 23 percent of all colleges and universities in the country.
ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥’s computer science program’s ranking is particularly noteworthy. with its graduates earning an average of $65,000 for early-career pay and $131,000 for mid-career pay.
CSUEB’s computer science program benefits from its close proximity to Silicon Valley, giving students access to attractive internship opportunities. Its student-to-faculty ratio and broad selection of elective courses also makes CSUEB’s program stand out, according to Matt Johnson, the chair of CSUEB’s computer science and mathematics department.
“We have great faculty who have industry experience and they are the ones providing individual attention to the students,” Johnson said. “We have small class sizes capped at 25 students for graduate classes and 35 for undergraduate, and it’s easy for students to take classes in the area they want.”
