A digest of top, need-to-know dates, deadlines and events for faculty, staff and students, "This Month at CSUEB" is a regular feature of The View e-News. Read on for updates and previews of what’s happening at ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ in the coming month:

• Open Enrollment closes Oct. 11. Complete your enrollments, updates or other changes by logging into MyCSUEB. Questions? Contact Karen Reynolds at (510) 885-2265 or Katie Jackson at (510) 885-2549 for assistance.

• Fight the flu with a visit to Student Health and Counseling Services for a $15 flu shot. Attend one of the Same Day Walk-in Flu Clinics from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 16 and 17 or call (510) 885-3735 to schedule an appointment at a time that works for your schedule. Payment options: Bay Bucks, Check, Money Order or charge to financial account on MyCSUEB.

• Interested in becoming a social justice advocate, ally, community organizer or educator? Come to the first session of the Diversity and Social Justice Training Series from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Diversity Center on the Hayward Campus. Subsequent meetings, led by activist and radio host Lakota Harden, will be held Jan. 31 and April 25. Email jonathan.stoll@csueastbay.edu by Oct. 11 to register.

• Join students and other CSUEB community members Oct. 26 during Make A Difference Day. Participants will pitch in from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. picking up trash, painting over graffiti and gardening for organizations including Keep Hayward Clean and Green and Alternative Family Services. .

• Meet with reps from approximately 70 graduate and professional schools from throughout the Bay Area and the nation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 17 at the annual Graduate School Fair held along the walkway near Pioneer Bookstore. Get information about admissions requirements, costs, financial aid and more at the free event Student registration is not required. • Under the Affordable Care Act, many CSU students, families and staff members will be eligible for no-cost, public insurance under the recently expanded Medi-Cal program or significantly discounted private insurance purchased through Covered California, a state government marketplace. The CSU Health Insurance Education Project (HIEP) is working to educate CSU students, their families and campus employees about the new health insurance law.
