University Fall Convocation for all employees Sept. 24

The fall convocation for all employees of ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, East Bay will be held on Monday, Sept. 24 in the University Theatre on the Hayward campus. The event will feature an address by President Leroy M. Morishita at 9 a.m., preceded by refreshments beginning at 8:15 a.m. outdoors in the theatre courtyard. 

Other speakers will include James Houpis, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs; Mitch Watnik, chair of the Academic Senate; and Jerry Chang, president of Associated Students Inc. 

It is expected that many University offices will be closed during this time because all faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. Managers are urged to arrange for attendance by department staff members as long as operational needs can still be met.
