ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ guard Roshun Wynne was named the California Athletic Association (CCAA) men’s basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 28 through Dec. 4,.
Wynne averaged 16.5 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals as the Pioneers opened CCAA play with a pair of come-from-behind victories over Sonoma State and Humboldt State, the nation's No. 6 ranked team (for NCAA Division II).
In the 89-85 win over Sonoma State, Wynne scored 24 points, including 15 in the second half, helping East Bay overcome a 13-point deficit.
The following night, Wynne came back to score nine points and pull down a team-high 11 rebounds while playing with a sprained ankle in the Pioneers 88-82 win over previously undefeated Humboldt State.
For the season, Wynne is averaging 11.8 points and 4 rebounds a game.
The Pioneers are off to a 2-0 start in the CCAA and 4-2 overall. The two victories in CCAA play equals ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥’s entire conference win total from last year.
CSUEB will host Cal State Dominguez Hills for a 1 p.m. tipoff on Sunday, Dec. 18.
