Pioneers finish sixth at CCAA Preview Meet

WHITTIER, Calif. - The Pioneer women’s cross country finished sixth in a field of seven teams at the CCAA Preview Meet hosted by Cal Poly Pomona at Whittier Narrows Regional Park on Oct. 23. East Bay finished with a score of 142 to best host Cal Poly Pomona by seven points.
Amanda McNabb took the top Pioneer mark, finishing the 6k course in 23:45.4 for a 21st-place finish overall. Bernadette Lu clocked in at 23:57.5 to finish in 26th, while Megan McDaniel was close behind in 28th with a time of 24:00.9.
Freshman Tiffany Duffy completed the course with a time of 24:26.0 to finish in 39th. Nancy Velazquez placed 41st, while Nastassia Hamor finished 51st to round out the Pioneer field at the meet, which served as a preview for the CCAA Championships on Nov. 6.
Cal State Stanislaus captured the team and individual title, placing three runners in the top 10.
