The Pioneers received an outstanding effort from setters Roxanne Neely and K.C. Walsh who ended with 22 and 21 assists respectively.

Neither team led by more than three points in the third set. The Pioneers broke a 20-20 tie with three consecutive points. East Bay maintained a three-point advantage 24-21 on a Walsh kill before the Golden Eagles rallied with two unanswered points to cut the lead to 24-23. Allen’s 12th kill of the match gave the Pioneers the impressive victory.

ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, which remained undefeated at home with a 5-0 record, played before a rambunctious crowed of 263 at Pioneer Gym.

"We‘re more comfortable on our court," Allen said. "It was cool that the students came out and supported the team."

East Bay returns to action next weekend when they play host to Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 8.
