Pioneers finish sixth at Bronco Invitational

SUNNYVALE, Calif - The Pioneer men’s cross country team placed 6th out of 13 teams at the Santa Clara Invitational on Oct. 16. East Bay, which compiled a team score of 179, finished ahead of Cal State Monterey Bay and Notre Dame de Namur. San Francisco won the event with 48 points.

The Pioneers were led by Erik Rodriguez who finished in 36th overall in a field of more than 125 runners. Rodriguez completed the 8k course in 26:54, while Francisco Pulido placed 71st in 28:31 and Scott Pallesen was 82nd in 29:16.

Antonio Arredondo (29:56), John Erlandson (29:58) and John Vergara rounded out the Pioneer group in 89th, 90th and 92nd, respectively.

The Pioneers return to the trails on Oct. 23 when they travel to Pomona for the Cal Poly Pomona Invite that will serve as a preview of the CCAA Championships in Pomona on Oct. 30.
