ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ freshmen first baseman Emily Montanez was named to the California Collegiate Athletic Association academic first team.
Montanez, a Salinas High graduate, hit .244 last spring in 43 starts for CS-East Bay, hitting one home run while driving in 16 runs. In the field, she sported a .978 fielding percentage.
