Art Gallery Hosts Juried Student Show

Paintings, photography, sculpture and works on paper will be shown by ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, East Bay students in a juried exhibition in the University Art Gallery, 25800 Carlo Bee Blvd., Hayward. An opening reception and potluck will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 19. Exhibition hours are 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, May 20 through June 4 (closed May 25). Admission is free.
The artwork selected to receive awards will be announced for the first time at the opening.
Concurrently, the Satellite Gallery, in the back of the University Gallery, will show “Pre-Columbian Sculpture,” including figures and faces from the ancient Mesoamerican traditions of the Olmec, the Maya, and the Aztec.
