When it comes to diversity, ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ tops the charts. According to a new Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings list, the university is .
The rankings measure a school’s environment based on various factors, including the percentage of Pell Grant recipients as well as the diversity of students and staff, and the number of first-generation students enrolled. At ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, first-generation students make up 61 percent of the student population, and 41 percent received Pell Grants in 2018-19.
Nine other campuses from the ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ made the top 27 list in the environment category, including ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥, Northridge and San Francisco State University.
The Wall Street Journal listings also ranked universities in several other categories including resources, engagement and outcomes. ÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ was ranked 601 out of 800 overall.
